As an Econometrics Teaching Assistant, I aim to help students excel in all aspects of the course, but my greatest focus is on using Stata for data analysis. In the summer of 2023, I developed a new lab entitled “Getting Started with Stata.” Unlike other labs previously used in the course, this lab centers around a custom-designed, 46 slide PowerPoint presentation that introduces students to the basics of Stata’s interface, command syntax, and best practices. I also developed a quiz designed to be administered in the days after this lab. This lab and assignment were used for two semesters and are scheduled to be included in the future.
